Being human is hard…

And you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Like most of us, I have walked through some intense sh!t. Scary medical diagnoses, addiction, grief, painful life transitions—you name it. Like you, I am deeply human. And as humans, we need one another.
For a long time, I told myself that life would really begin once I conquered the hard stuff. Once I healed my nervous system, my relationships, and all the t(T)rauma, I would finally have the energy and space for joy.
But here’s what I’ve learned: healing is a process. It isn’t a declarative sentence with an exclamation point at the end. Healing is a fluid, lifelong journey that is sometimes incredibly inspiring, and other times a slog through dense, metaphorical mud.
Eventually I realized I couldn’t afford to wait until I was “healed” to claim joy in my life. I didn’t have to finish healing before I was allowed to live.
To truly thrive, I had to learn to hold two seemingly contradictory truths at once: things can fall apart and come together at the same time. Things can suck and still be beautiful. I can feel stuck and still be growing. Life is weird, hard, beautiful, messy, and amazing—and often, all of those things are happening at once.
It is my sincere honor to walk alongside clients as they learn to thrive, grow, and shine amid the challenges, chaos, and the sweetness. I believe therapy can help us build a greater tolerance for discomfort while also making room for the unexpected gifts that life has to offer along the way.
Because maybe the goal isn’t to get to a place where everything is finally okay. Maybe the goal is to learn how to live fully—even when it isn’t.
